5 day trip to Scandinavia and the harsh beauty of the fjords!

Have you often met Norwegians during other travels? Most likely not. Do you know why? For the Norwegians, there is nothing better than putting their backpacks in the trunk, attaching bicycles to the roof of the car and going on a trip... around the regions of their own country. Yes, the ideal vacation for them is to go (swim, walk) to their native places, admire the northern landscapes and spend the night in a tent. And the point is not that they cannot afford trips to other countries — they can! They just don’t need this. We can understand them: the one who once visited Norway, saw the fjords with his own eyes, inhaled fresh air, wandered through pastures and forests, tasted a thick soup of chanterelle and brown cheese “Brunost”, rode the famed Flåm railway, enjoyed silence on the shores of the bays, - will certainly want to come back here again.

We present to your attention a small tour of Scandinavia in a young company with a visit to the Norwegian Fjords. It will be enough of just a few minutes to look at the incredible places that we will visit on this journey to fall in love with them forever.

FIRST DAY

Our journey will start in Minsk, from where we will travel to Riga early in the morning. Arriving at the Lithuanian port, we will board the Tallink ferry and head for Stockholm.

On the ferry, they will accommodate us in cabins and we will have dinner! In the evening there will be time for some fun. Parties, bars, and a swimming pool are guaranteed!

SECOND DAY

Upon arriving in Stockholm, we will go to Oslo, where we will be waiting for an evening tour from a local resident.
We are going on a sightseeing tour of the Grunerlokka district, where we will pay special attention to Ingens Gate Street and the area around of Bla club.
They will serve us with a delicious dinner on the street food market Mathallen Oslo. Be sure to try the famous creamy fish soup.
There is free time.

For the record: Being in Norway, try to slow down. Smile more often. Travel on foot more. Rest in the evening with a cider mug in the bar (it won’t work to drink until late, the bars close at midnight). Dine without haste. In short, behave like the Norwegians. We should take an example from them because life expectancy in Norway is 82-84 years.

The best Norwegian and eurotrips friend Jorgen Bo will show us the night city. His program will be left as a secret for now. Let's just say that we can expect a hot night of dances.

THIRD DAY

Oh yeah! An incredible day awaits us because today we planned a trip to the Fjords region which is an outdoor picnic.

We're going to watch the Fjords west of Oslo in the Flam city. 160 kilometers by bus and then 3 hours of a delightful journey between the rocky cliffs on the ferry. Here it is, the true nature of Norway. And by the way, we have a picnic, so let's take fruit, cheese, and wine. In the evening we will return home.

For the record: in the suburb of Flåm there is an old wooden church - stavrka, on the walls of which dragon figures and runic writing were found: "Thor made this inscription on the eve of the June festival." Still, a few kilometers from Flåm is the unique glass platform “Stegastein”. It offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Aurlandsfjord.

Norway! The magnificent waterfalls located here are dropping tons of crystal clear water into rivers and bays. It is here that tourists can enjoy the beautiful brilliance of glaciers on the tops of the surrounding mountains. Having visited these magnificent places, you will plunge headlong into the world of legends and myths about fabulous trolls and ancient Vikings – brave warriors and navigators, who once were a force to be reckoned with across the entire European continent.
This is the land of ice and auroras. Perhaps, only the Vikings and the Valkyries are born here who are not encountering any difficulties like the cold, the impenetrable forests, and the harsh northern nature. But the main attraction of this country is, of course, the Norwegian fjords!

After a busy day, we are waiting for the night transfer to Stockholm.

FOURTH DAY

Upon arrival in Stockholm, we’re in for a walking tour.
Firstly, we'll stop for breakfast, and then we will go on a short bus orientation tour around the city and rest a bit at the hotel.
Then a local resident takes us, and we go to see the old part of the city, the so-called Gamla Stan. We will listen to stories about Pippi Longstocking and bad Carlson, find out a couple of facts about Nobel and of course look at Stockholm’s unique antique shops.

Would you like to keep trying street food in the Scandinavian capitals?
Next up is the K25 market (Kungsgatan 25).

After leisure time we will take the Tallink ferry and travel to Riga.

For the record: Stockholm stands on 14 islands connected by 52 bridges. You should definitely look at it from the water at least once, but this is an expensive pleasure. Few people know that there are ferry lines used as public transport. They are actively used by local residents. In order to look at Stockholm from the water, you can kill two birds with one stone and come to Stockholm Slussenkajen ferry station on the way to the museum island, pay only 20 crowns and wait for the regular ferry, which takes you to Djurgården island in 20 minutes. During such a short trip you will be able to see the old city in such a way as many cannot see because of the high cost of living. Plus you will enjoy a small cruise.

FIFTH DAY

As always we will meet a local resident in the city and he will show us all the most interesting things. We will walk through the old town and leave plenty of free time to enjoy the architecture and remember everything that has happened to us in recent days.

For the record: a retro tram No. 11 runs in Riga, the mere sight of which gives true aesthetic pleasure. But it circulates only on weekends and holidays and for the price of two euros. So it’s worth taking a ride on the same route for less money on a regular city tram going from Privokzalnaya Square to Meža Park and the Zoo.

In the evening, overwhelmed with emotions, we will go back to Minsk.

It doesn't matter in which season you’ve decided to visit Scandinavia because everything you will see will conquer you.

You will fall in love with the fjords once and for all, we promise you. The spring comes here from below: the mountains gradually turn green. The summer pleases with bright colors and the water with a deep blue color. Autumn and winter, on the contrary, descend from the top down: the snow follows the yellow leaves. Villagers claim: “If you are looking for a place where you can experience the greatness of nature and peace, you will find it here.”
